IBM has launched an entire gamut of new software tools, consulting services, data models and blueprints that will facilitate their customers’ information management on all company levels.

Information is one of the most important factors in achieving and maintaining a competitive advantage, says IBM, and the new tools and services allow businesses to establish an “information agenda,” a strategy that allows companies to use information more effectively, consequently boosting their business performance.

“Information agenda” refers to the sharing of the information necessary for application performance and the decision-making process across the enterprise, instead of restricting it to a single application.

Ambuj Goyal, general manager of Information Management at IBM, says:

“In order for businesses to take their information to the next level and accelerate the journey to using information on demand, they need a cross-company information strategy. IBM is responding to this need by helping businesses create an Information Agenda for their specific industry. This will allow them to transform data into a strategic asset that can be used across applications and processes to enable better decisions for sustained competitive advantage.”
