CSC, a leading IT services company, has announced plans to employ 2,000 people for its operations in India over the next six months. The decision to recruit so many new people is a result of the growing demand for IT services in verticals such as manufacturing and financial services, especially banking and insurance.

CSC currently employs about 18,500 professionals in India. The company’s chairman, president and CEO Michael W. Laphen says: “India is CSC’s largest world sourcing location outside the US, and an important part of the company’s global success.”

CSC India president Rajendra B. Vattikuti has announced plans to target companies, especially those in healthcare and financial services, that are planning to open offices in India and partner up with local companies to tap the market. "The India market is very small as of now, but we see opportunities in financial services, telecom and government verticals," says Vattikuti.

CSC currently employs about 90,000 people worldwide and has reported revenue of $17.1 billion for the year ended July 2008.
