Management consulting firm BearingPoint has been awarded a Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) contract worth up to $3.7 million by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the largest combat support agency at the Department of Defense.

The Defense Logistics Agency originally established the SRM program in 2002 and BearingPoint was hired later that year to consult on business analytics, data access and broad supplier strategies.

Under the new contract, BearingPoint will provide the DLA with supply chain related services including acquisition and program management, supplier and strategic sourcing strategies, metrics development and performance tracking.

Brenda Walker, vice president of BearingPoint's defense practice, said:

“BearingPoint has a well-established record working with DLA on their Supplier Relationship Program. We are proud to continue to have an opportunity to support DLA efforts to increase service to the warfighter and reduce taxpayer expense.”
